Resources Needed- Bryony Pearce

In terms of the technical equipment that will be needed and the risks that we may faces within the filming and the practical section of this project, there are some elements that we need to consider, as we intend to work and film within a different country. Our requirements are:

- - To have a piece of filming equipment that shoots 1080p, or at least 720p which most music videos art shot at. Because we need to escort this piece of filming equipment into Florence, where we intend to film the narrative of the music video, so we will most likely be filming this part of the music video on a compact ,in comparison to an industry camera, DSLR that can shoot up to 1080p.

- - However, for the performance part of the shooting, we do not have the problem of transporting the camera, so we shall use the media industry cameras for this part of the footage and filming. This with also bare close resemblance to the footage within our short film from our previous project.

- - In terms if the number of cameras, and the movement that we intend to use which may need special equipment to execute ,referring to floor plan of the performance. When we shoot the performance scene, to shot the performance with the highest amount of efficiency, we will try and use 2-3 cameras at once, most being stationary, having 1, and possibly two moving cameras to capture expressions and small details.

- -The type of sweeping movements that we want to incorporate, will require equipment such as the use of tracks such will allow use to create the look of slow steady movement within the scene.

- - Also, within group discussions ,we have decided that the use of photographic lights will prove effective , changing throughout the performance to indicate different pieces of the song. A combination of house lights and photographic lights to create a professional ‘look’ to the music video.

Space

In terms of the problems that is faced with location is mainly space and permission to use said space. For example, with a large interior, you can make the space seem smaller, however with a small interior it is harder to make the area seem big. The group, including myself will have to consider both of these instances :

- - In terms of the band performance part of the music video, as a group we agreed that that best place to do this portion of the music video, is the Bedlam Theatre stage within college.

- - More specifically , the advantages of this location, is the amount of space that would have at our disposal ,so we can afford to cut off a piece of the space in exchange for a better overall aesthetic of the scene, meaning that we will be filming in fronts of the black curtains within the room.

- - When referring to floor plan ,you will see the set of cameras we are anticipating to use throughout the music video, using tripods, tracks and also one handheld camera.

- - In terms of instances where I might have problems with space, is the filming within Florence , as we will not know the amount of space within the hotel rooms, and permission if was decide to film is historically significant places.

Locations:

- As I have already said, for the band performance part of the video, we are using the Beldam theatre within college .An advantage of having one of our locations at college is easy availability to the facility ,

- - Also in terms of permission to film , I will have to email ,or request in person, to use the Beldam theatre at an appointed time.

- -The difficulties that may be faced within Florence is mainly the amount space, and if we wanted to film is historic places, we would need to sort legal permission in places that aren’t entirely open to the public, which may be hard with the problems of a language barrier.

- - We are fortunate enough to be able to film and have the opportunity to film within a different country because of the convenience of a college Photography trip.

People:

- - For the band performance segment ,we will need four band members , all late teens early 20s male to resemble you met at six or a similar band such as this. This age for the band members will also correspond to the age of the characters within the short film.

- - For the narrative of the music video, we will need two people, a girl and a boy to act out a romantic narrative, that somewhat corresponds to the romantic love portrayed within the short film.

- - In terms of extras that may be needed will be need within the narrative segment of the music video, and if needed, I can use the students on the trip, as I have already asked a number of them before the trip and they have said they would help if necessary .

Props and costumes :

- - For the clothing of the band members within the performance, to correspond to the genre of the music that You Me At Six fall under.

- -For the performance, I think the most fitting clothing, is a form of smart-casual , darker tones within the clothing, maybe flashes of red to indicate romance but also anger and aggression which there is a sense of within the song. Also, not wearing any popular branded clothing will not indicate synergy.

- - In terms of the clothing within Florence, feminine clothing for the girl, causal to summery clothing for the boy, decided on set and section of the narrative. Multiple changes to indicate days passing ,also careful to not show any popular brands within this instance also.

Transport:

- There is very little transport needed to get to the ,Beldam Theatre, with only needing transport to get to college. This ranges from on foot, car and various forms of public transport.

- - In terms of myself, and Bo Kelly’s transport to college, which could be somewhat effected, and in some extreme situations ,would not be able to get into college.

- Florence- coach and flight to also get from the airport to the hotel

Weather needs :

- - Weather needs doesn’t need to be considered within the band performance in the Beldam Theatre ,because the whole segment is within a building.

- -In terms of the scenes within Florence , we are hoping for no rain and strong winds to make filming as easy as possible. Checking the weather forecast closer the time, will give us over view.
